ABOUT SELECTQUOTE’S NEW SPACE
Four years ago, SelectQuote announced a goal of doubling its Kansas City-area workforce. With that goal accomplished, employing 500 staff locally, SelectQuote had outgrown its Leawood headquarters in just two years. Talent recruitment and retention are integral to the company’s strategy. The new space needed to align with this strategy.
Hoefer Wysocki was hired as the design architect and interior designer to facilitate SelectQuote’s 80,000 sq. ft. award-winning office expansion. The Hoefer Wysocki team created an employee-centric design with a high-tech, amenity-rich, open office plan.
The interior design embraces the SelectQuote brand of providing exceptional customer service in a fun and energetic environment. Highly productive spaces are balanced with areas for employees to recharge. A bold and vibrant color palette is balanced with natural materials including reclaimed wood for doors, walls and ceilings.
SelectQuote is among the tech-savvy tenants occupying Overland Park Xchange (OPx), an adaptive reuse of a former trade center originally constructed in 1986. Hoefer Wysocki led the design of the OPx renovation, which includes the following:
- 191,000 sq. ft. of office space on a single, contiguous floor plate with 10-ft. ceilings
- exterior updates including site & landscape improvements
- new parking garage (889 stalls); existing parking garage improvements (1,203 stalls); and surface parking reconfigurations and upgrades
- tenant improvements for United Health Group/Optum Pharmacy; Black & Veatch Telecom Group; and Black & Veatch Special Projects Group
