Jason Loader, Director of Surveying Services will demonstrate the actual use of a 3D scanner and the results will be instantly displayed on an overhead screen for participants to view. This is an industry advancement that takes the total station technology and the scanning technology and combines it. The new 3D scanner can capture a full dome scan in just minutes. This tool gives the operator the capability to quickly document a site with so many points that the resulting drawing resembles a photograph.
Attendees will learn how to 3D scan interior spaces, how to safely collect scanned data from locations that are dangerous or impossible to reach, how to use collected data, an overview of the software and processing procedures and what deliverables that a 3D scanner can provide.
