About the Project:
As part of a multi-disciplined team, SFS worked with the City of Olathe to create master plans for two of its premier community parks: Lake Olathe Park and Cedar Lake Park. Through extensive stakeholder and community engagement, the master plans establish a vision for the parks and outlines phased improvements. SFS provided architectural services for the design of several park structures for Lake Olathe Phase 1 Improvements, including Eagles Landing, a 6,500 SF, 200-person event venue; Marina + Beach Pavilion; Beaver Shelter and Restrooms; and a Fishing Pavilion. The underlying design theme of the structures has a common and unifying architectural character. Though each building has its own specific function, building roof forms and material applications unite them with other lake/park structures, landforms, and signage, creating an overall consistency between the architecture and park landscape. The Eagles Landing event space boasts picturesque views and an outdoor deck overlooking Lake Olathe.
