ABOUT ABOUT

The AIA Kansas City Equity in Architecture Committee will be hosting a 9-part conversation series structured around the AIA Guides for Equitable Practice.  Starting in January 2021, each session will be facilitated by a group of local chapter volunteers, and will give participants the chance to learn about best practices and tools to bring about meaningful change to our practices and our communities in the interest of diversity and equity.

The first of these sessions will begin on January 19 at 4 p.m. and will cover the topic Intercultural Competence, which will address issues of reducing bias and increasing intercultural competence.  Joyce Raybuck and Hans Nettelblad of BNIM will lead this session.

All subsequent sessions will be held on the third Tuesday of each month, so mark your calendar.  Zoom format will be the platform (until further notice) and will feature a short presentation from the member firms, followed by breakout room sessions for discussion with fellow AIA members.

These sessions are free to AIA members.
