ABOUT ABOUT

Join Braun Intertec Corp for this presentation on energy codes.

Mr. Reigle is an architect registered in Minnesota where he has been practicing for 36+ years.  Ron is senior architect and leader in Braun Intertec’s Building Sciences division where he provides enclosure consulting services for commercial clients on a variety of projects including multi-family housing, office buildings, big box retail and critical technology facilities.  He has spent many years performing forensic investigations and property condition assessments for building owners, property managers, architects and contractors.

Mr. Reigle’s experience conducting forensic studies and building air leakage testing for US Army Corps of Engineers and the US Army at bases throughout the Midwest and Southwest has provided him with a unique opportunity to understand how air infiltration in buildings directly impacts the energy efficiency and long term performance of building envelopes.  Department of Energy studies have determined that over 40% of the fossil fuels consumed in this country go into the construction and operation of our buildings.  Improving the energy efficiency of our buildings is needed to reduce our overall reliance on these energy sources.

States have been adopting key elements of the IECC– International Energy Conservation Code by amending their state building codes to recognize IECC requirements.  Designers and contractors are incorporating new materials into their buildings that have not been thoroughly tested in the field.  Designers and contractors have a responsibility to understand how new building elements such as continuous insulation and air barriers work and how these elements impact design and construction of exterior walls, windows and cladding systems.  Ron will be sharing practical responses to these new developments in energy efficient building design.

This program is worth 1 HSW and lunch will be provided.
