Hosted by AIA Kansas City’s Young Architect’s Forum, in partnership with Dake Wells Architecture, join us for the first of a new lecture series: Six by Three, which incorporates six projects talked about by three architects, each at varying experience levels, from new grad to Principal. Kicking things off, we welcome Des Moines-based firm, Substance Architecture to Kansas City to speak about their studio and their work.
This new event will challenge the audience to ask the ‘tough questions’ about what it takes to run a project and run a firm. Tim Hickman, AIA, Jessica Terrill, AIA, and Paolo Orlando, Associate AIA will each present two firm projects, with each project viewed through the lens of a topic chosen by audience members. Throughout the lecture, we’ll explore design, the value of our profession, firm culture, and anything that you want to be discussed! Substance has traveled all this way to see you – what do you want to learn from them? Make sure to let us know when you sign up.

In 2015, 2016, and, again, in 2017, substance was recognized by Architect magazine as one of the Architect50 – the top 50 architecture firms in the United States in design, sustainability, and business.
